Experience Reverb Like Never Before
With Reverbophone, you can craft stunning acoustic environments in your recordings. Whether you're aiming to simulate natural spaces or create unique sonic landscapes, Reverbophone offers the flexibility and precision you need to elevate your productions to the next level. This is truly a powerful tool!
How Does It Work?
At first glance, it looks like a beautifully designed gobo—and it is—but it doesn’t stop there. In fact, it's a large microphone! Inside, a sensitive reverb membrane in the form of a large rectangular plate vibrates in harmony with the sound placed in front of it. The result? A rich, expansive, and natural reverb. One that delivers high energy and handles low frequencies exceptionally well.
The reverb time is easily adjusted with a lever, ranging from a tight 0.1-second room to a massive 6–7-second cathedral.
Reverbophone has two distinct sides:
- Front: This is where the reverb membrane picks up vibrations, covered with durable and robust grill cloth.
- Back: Behind the grill cloth on the rear, you'll find a 50mm thick acoustic damping material and the control panel.
The control panel includes:
- 2 XLR outputs (left & right) for connection to a preamp with 48V phantom power
- A stereo/mono switch that merges the two channels
- A high-pass filter sweeping from 0–200 Hz
- An XLR input and volume knob, allowing you to use Reverbophone as a traditional plate reverb
Each Reverbophone is equipped with an internal amplifier and transducer. Simply connect a power adapter (12–18V), and you’re ready to go.
How to Use It
Reverbophone is versatile and can be used in various ways:
-
Stereo Setup:
Place two Reverbophones a few meters apart in front of the sound source to create a wide stereo image. Connect to the left XLR output on each unit, enable 48V phantom power, and adjust the reverb time to your preference. Record drums, amps, acoustic guitars, or vocals. Whatever you place in front of them will return with a rich, spacious, and three-dimensional reverb. -
Single Unit:
Use just one Reverbophone and connect both the left and right outputs for stereo playback. Even with a single unit, you’ll achieve a large, immersive sound with a wide stereo field. -
Post-Production:
Already have your tracks recorded? Use one or two Reverbophones as a traditional plate reverb. Send your line-level signal to the XLR input, adjust the volume, and enjoy a sound reminiscent of the classic analog plate reverbs we all know and love.
With Reverbophone, you're not just adding reverb—you're creating a whole new dimension of sound.

Reverbophone Whole Band Demo
Here you get to hear drums, mandolin, and acoustic guitar recorded separately with close mics, along with 2 reverbophones. In the beginning, they all play together, then each instrument individually. First, for a while with a mix of close mics and reverbophones, then only close mics, and finally only reverbophones. All clips are completely unprocessed, meaning no EQ, no compression. Everything was recorded in a small room, approximately 20 square meters. The distance between the instruments and the reverbophone microphones during recording was about 1.5 meters. The length of the reverb is set slightly differently for each instrument, according to what we felt was appropriate.
Reverbophone Drum Demo
Here you get to hear only the drums. First, only reverbophone, then a mix of reverbophone and close mics, then only close mics, and finally a mix of both again. Recorded in a 20 sqm room. The clips are completely unprocessed, without EQ or compression. The reverbophone microphones are about 1.5 meters away from the drums and about 2 meters apart.
Ac Gtr Mixed Sounds
